Are people playing some of the same miniatures in the game?
I'm thinking of playing with 2 Gaki's or 2 Tonbos....
Is this allowed in the game?

It isn't normally allowed. The only ones that you can have more than one of are Lycals for the Hord (they have a special rule) and maybe the new Chitinous Hounds, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.
This is a good rule since spamming some models might lead to very lopsided games, but OTOH I could see people agreeing to allow for multiples of the same mini for friendly games.
Well wenn the rules say no, then I only buy a second shinobi for the hologram
