Hi guys, I would want to know if the cruishing special ability of the Grey Daimyo can be done when the daimyo is engaged in close combat with an enemy or he has to disengage from combat first.

You don't need to disengage in order to use the Crushing ability.
This ability can be triggered with a Movement action, and the disengagement is a Movement action.
