I was thinking of hosting a tournament here in Finland in January or February next year. I have quite a bit of experience in minis games tournaments but not so for Eden tournies, so anyone held any?
The crazy thing is that since the Eden boards take up so little space, I could hold the tournament at my home even. Might even be able to convince my wife to bake a cake or something! Coffee/tea and cake for the participants
But I digress...
If I've understood correctly, there have been approximately a gazillion tournaments in France, so the tournament rules are mature so the French view would be super welcome but I'm also very interested in hearing from other places and people.
Some topics I've been wondering about:
1) How long are the rounds? I've found Eden to be substantially faster to play than other skirmish games I've played (Malifaux, Hell Dorado, Confrontation, Alkemy and so on) - would one hour fifteen minutes be enough for a tournament game? Four games would then take five hours and with some time between rounds and a lunch break, the whole even would be a bit over six hours, which sounds nice and sweet.
2) Sideboards? Are they used? And if so, how big?
3) NPFs? I have some and could get them painted but not enough for many tables. So would it be silly to have one table feature them (and try to get as many people as possible to sit one game there)?
4) Tournament points? Wins worth two points, ties worth one, losses worth zero, and then victory point difference as a tie breaker?
Edit: 5) Also, do you use the weather table?
