Armor issuse, Protective + X - mbielsk - 01-03-2012 06:14 AM

I would like to ask how exactly Protective + X works? I had two games with ISC opponets and they seem understructiable. I would like to know if I get it right. So, e.g if some limb is protected by +2, if I score 2 or less hits no damage is dealt? Or at least one damage point is always dealt regardless the protective wargear?

And one more thing. Why first limbs dots on ISC cards are highlighted with green color?

Your first explanation is correct. I like to roll my attack and remove the dice that miss, then those that are used to move location of the blow (if any), then those for protection and see what is left. Mark the number of CP equal to the number of dice left.

They are on all models I think, but it means nothing.

Thanks for the answers. But tell how I am to supposed to deal with ISC with PR+2? How do you deal with them?

The Drones are often heavily protected, but it doesn't make them invulnerable. Just make sure you hit them hard enough Smile
I'd say don't bother to fight a Pr +2 without at least a CBT 5 fighter. Keep staking the attacks (you should have more fighters than the ISC, so focus on one Drone at a time) or produce some heavy artillery (Bamaka are very good at this). In fact, Bamaka and Matriarchy can fight back quite decently and Jokers can mix close combat (Yorg, Vladd) and range attacks (Bogdana's poisoning, Explosives, etc.) for good results. Convoy is a little bit at a disavantage when fighting ISC (good assets are Friedrich, Otto and Heinrich, but they need backups), so just avoid fighting and choose a Mission accordingly. The Resistance, well, they're new so it can be hard, but they have a very decent fighter (Ashton) and a very valuable shooter (Courteney).
Anyway, if you don't think you can outmatch Drones in fights, just play the right Mission, or use the good Tactical card Smile

As Berf said, you need to hit them hard and in a focussed way or just use a mission that allows you to avoid them.

They might be heavily armoured but if you look carefully you will see that they have few CPs on a limb too! In some ways they are easier to kill than the Bamaka in general.

For what it's worth I had exactly the same reaction as you to the ISC at first. I was using Jokers and was losing one or two models a turn but not being able to do anything in return. The Black Kuonichi is a nightmare assassin Sad If you're using Jokers I find careful use of Yorg greatly increases the number of hits on target (you must keep him safe though as he becomes #1 target for the ISC).
