I'm not the greatest of painters but I am somewhat competent and have been painting for well over 20 years, so hopefully this is of use to someone.

So here goes.

First of all, the base. I'm doing it the same as all my Eden fighters:



White milliput and random objects stuck to it.
Here we have small rocks, a metal disc and a metal washer, a bit of cork and a bit of a sprue with "20" on it (from Duncan's tab, I think). You don't need glue, since white milliput sticks to stuff extremely hard.

Then I drill holes into Duncan's soles, and pin him to the base. After that, I glue on fine sand all over the base.

I use gerbil bathing sand. It's very cheap, very fine and it's a bit clay-like in that when it gets moist (due to the glue) it clumps.

Then it's time for the undercoat. I use a white spray. Actually from GW, since I've never had problems with their sprays and, though a bit expensive, the can undercoats a load of minis, so the savings aren't all that much, really, per mini.

I use white because I want a vibrant orange for the Resistance coveralls and it's a lot easier to get that over white than over anything else, really.

So here's how he looks all in white:

Just a bit worried about the spears that N'Gwane and Dacké have. I know I can't keep the stock spears as they're far too bendy in white metal but did anyone come up with any ingenious ways of sorting this other than just replacing them with metal rod (aka a bit of paperclip)?

I was also thinking of just replacing them with some other kind of thrown weapon like a chakram.]]>

Recently I managed to finish the first starter of the Hord:

I loved painting these little fellows.

Now I look forward on painting the second starter of the Hord. Yesterday evening I primed them. Here a pic before priming:

I like especialy the Lycals. I hope one day the hord will have more of them. Maybe the great Dominant Lycal? Fingers crossed!

For a tournament in Berlin in the beginning of February I have to hurry painting the second starter. I am a slow painter, you know.

I wanted to give them a sort of albino look. At first I thought making the eyes pink, but in the end thought that black eyes pop better. The hair is weird orange brown with some purple in the shadows and highlights.
