Placing templates
Hey,

Me and my friend just started to play Eden thanks to Lemminkäinen great demo game in Ropecon (btw. im the one who won the joker box Tongue).
We were just wandering how the rules for templates goes if Garmin Ronin deploys his smoke. Can you shoot inside that zone with flamer or throw molotov? If im correct rules just say: "place template". Is it reguired to have LoS if you are shooting with template weapon?

regards
Jura

RE: Placing templates
Hello and welcome !
Regarding the Smokescreen, it blocks all line of sight, except if you have the 'Drone' type. As you must have a valid line of sight when using a projectile weapon (like the Molotov), you cannot throw it within 5 cm of the Ronin. The Ronin itself is out of reach when using the Smokescreen, but remember that you can target a point on the Field with a Molotov. So if some other opponent is inside the Smokescreen, it can be affected since the Molotov is 5 cm wide, just place the center out of the Smokescreen.
For the template weapons, no line of sight is required, so you can shoot through the Smokescreen. Just remember that you must 'target' the nearest opponent with the template (the nearest opponent must be covered by the template, even partially), so if you want to shoot the Ronin, make sure it is the nearest.

RE: Placing templates
Thanks for the answer. It helped.

And then next question about samething Tongue If you throw molotov through forest that gives you negative modifiers if you shoot through. Does it give you any negative modifiers when you throw/shoot projectiles in/through the forest?

RE: Placing templates
No, it doesn't Smile
Projectile weapons require no roll, you just place the template in the line of sight of the fighter and within the range of the weapon (the center of the template must be within range) and then apply the effects of the weapon (some dice rolling can be required then, like for the Explosive (X) effects).
